About the Center

In a previous project, we worked with patients to prioritize a list of diagnosis-related issues that were important to them. The four Workstreams in the Center are each tasked with tackling one of these issues. Read below to learn more about what we're working on!

Project Overview

Each of the four Center workstreams will focus on a specific issue that patients have identified related to diagnostic safety. To address these issues, the workstreams will use the following process:

Analyze the Problem

Workstreams will conduct literature reviews, problem mapping, data synthesis and analysis in partnership
with internal and external stakeholders, to identify problems that are relevant to their workstreams.

Co-Design Patient-Centered Solutions

Workstreams will use principles of design thinking to co-design solutions to the problems
identified. In partnership with patients, providers, technologists, and
administrators, we will create solutions to reduce diagnostic error.

Test Solutions

We will apply principles of implementation science and human factors engineering to rigorously evaluate
solutions in simulated environments. Interventions that are evaluated as effective, usable, and likely to prove
cost-effective will be tested in the clinical environment across multiple healthcare systems
